Lost Your IC (Identity Card)? Here’s What You Should Do

No matter what your excuses are, losing your IC is a big deal. You have to pay for the penalty.

  • 1st Time: RM100 (Penalty) + RM10 (Processing Fee)
  • 2nd Time: RM300 (Penalty) + RM10 (Processing fee)
  • 3rd Time: RM1,000 (Penalty) + RM10 (Processing Fee)

I lost my wallet recently, and here is the info I gathered and proceed for replacement application for all the documents / replacement required.

Credit Card / ATM Card Cancellation

  • Check online or check inside banker's App, get the hotline number
  • Make a call to block / cancel your credit card / ATM card
  • For credit card, banker will send replacement card to your registered address, or you may choose to collect at any branch
  • For ATM card, you will need to get replacement IC ready, before you can proceed to apply for new ATM card at any branch

Lodge A Police Report

  • You can now choose to lodge a report online at E-Reporting PDRM
  • Register as New User / Login using your existing User ID

  • You must be a Malaysian citizen and above 18 years old to proceed.
  • This police report is only for non-criminal case, e.g.: Lost of IC / Driving License, etc. 
  • Fill-in all the required info, and you will be provided a police report (softcopy) instantly. A copy of report will be sent to your email address.

    • Print out a copy of Police Report and bring along for replacement document (IC / Driving License) application

    IC Replacement Application
    • Go to JPN Online Services at Portal JPN - e-Services
    • Choose the option for "Urusniaga Kad Pengenalan" (Identity Card Related)

    • Register a new User ID / Use your existing ID. Choose "Password" to login. Or you may use MyDigital ID (if you have it).
    • Enter your Login ID & Password
    • Fill-in required info & submit application, with online payment (by credit card / FPX)
    • Application Processing Time:
      • JPN Putrajaya HQ, State HQ, and UTC: 30min
      • Other JPN @ Peninsular Malaysia: 5 Working Days
      • Other JPN @ Sabah / Sarawak: 7 Working Days
    • For my case, I choose to collect at UTC, it is ready within 30min after application submission.
    • Print a copy of payment slip and bring along during IC collection at JPN Office.
    • Upon reaching JPN Office, get a number and wait for your turn. You will need to scan thumbprint to verify your identity, in order to collect the new replacement IC.
    Driving License Replacement Application
    • No online application service available. You will need to go personally to any JPJ Office.
    • I choose to go to UTC, after collected IC (Identity Card) at JPN, I can just proceed to next door.
    • Download JPJeQ App to scan QR Code for generating queueing number

    • Wait for your turn to proceed Driving License Replacement Application
    • Since there is no physical card available (out-of-stock) at the moment, the officer offered me to renew additional 1 year for my Driving License (at RM30/year) for laminated renewal slip, until next replacement application possible at any JPJ Office.
    • Till then, I can choose to show my Driving License (digital copy) available at MyJPJ App, or I can retrieve my old Driving License (laminated version, if it is still there) to attach with the renewal slip, in case of any needs arises.
