DIY Series 13 @ MCO: Door Knob Replacement

DIY Door Knob Replacement in 10 min. It is as simple as 1-2-3.

1) Get a set of new door knob set from hardware shop or order online

2) Get ready the screwdriver or power tools

3) Check the contents of the door knob set

4) Use the small metal pin provided to dismantle the door knob (inside the room). Look for the small hole to unlatch the knob.

5) Remove the metal cover. Some models need to turn it anti-clockwise, this old model can directly take it out.

6) Unscrew the base metal plate (there are only 2 screws involved)

7) Remove the whole door knob and you will see the hole with the latch attached.

8) If the latch is still in good condition, you do not need to replace a new one.

9) Now, take out your new door knob set and dismantle the door knob. Use the small metal pin provided to dismantle the door knob.

10) Remove the metal cover and base metal plate

11) Place the new door knob set into the hole, adjust the latch by pressing slightly to get it attach to the door knob set. (Refer to Step 8 for clear image on the latch mechanism)

12) Put the base metal plate and screw it onto the door (only 2 screws involved)

13) Place the metal cover by turn it clockwise

14) Slot in the door knob and use the metal pin to help to lock the knob into the correct location

15) Last step, test the new door knob using key and it is done.

DIY Series 12 @ MCO: Watch Battery and Band Shortening

Watch Battery Replacement or Shortening A Watch Band

1) Get ready a set of Watch Repairing Tools

2) Use this tool to dismantle the watch metal band or to shorten it (to fit your wrist size)

3) For battery replacement, there are various tools for different watch models. I only demonstrate one of the easiest way which is required by this watch.

3(a) Check the back cover for tools required, different watches require different tools.

3(b) Identify the location of the possible opening spot (varies according to the type of watch)

3(c) For this watch, I just use this simple tool to open it.

3(d) Once the back cover is opened, you are now able to change the battery.

3(e) Done. The watch is now operating in good condition with a new battery.

DIY Series 11 @ MCO: Hair Cut

Hair cut is a problem during MCO. Why not just get it done yourself? It is super easy for toddlers, boys or even for men.

1) Get a set of hair clipper (e.g. Xiaomi Enchen) that is easy to operate and safe even for toddlers.

2. Get other accessories if you want too (optional)

3) Don't forget to apply talcum powder around your neck before the hair cut.

4) Start the hair cut from behind & side with the hair clipper at length 9mm then reduce to 6mm and 3mm (depending on your own preference)

5) Continue with hair clipper at the front at length 15mm then reduce to 12mm and 9mm (depends on your own preference). Then, either use the clipper with a comb or use scissors to trim the hair.

6) Lastly, sweep away the hair around the neck with a brush. We're done!
