DIY Series 13 @ MCO: Door Knob Replacement

DIY Door Knob Replacement in 10 min. It is as simple as 1-2-3.
1) Get a set of new door knob set from hardware shop or order online
2) Get ready the screwdriver or power tools
3) Check the contents of the door knob set
4) Use the small metal pin provided to dismantle the door knob (inside the room). Look for the small hole to unlatch the knob.
5) Remove the metal cover. Some models need to turn it anti-clockwise, this old model can directly take it out.
6) Unscrew the base metal plate (there are only 2 screws involved)
7) Remove the whole door knob and you will see the hole with the latch attached.
8) If the latch is still in good condition, you do not need to replace a new one.
9) Now, take out your new door knob set and dismantle the door knob. Use the small metal pin provided to dismantle the door knob.
10) Remove the metal cover and base metal plate
11) Place the new door knob set into the hole, adjust the latch by pressing slightly to get it attach to the door knob set. (Refer to Step 8 for clear image on the latch mechanism)
12) Put the base metal plate and screw it onto the door (only 2 screws involved)
13) Place the metal cover by turn it clockwise
14) Slot in the door knob and use the metal pin to help to lock the knob into the correct location
15) Last step, test the new door knob using key and it is done.
