Sitiawan is a small town in Perak, Malaysia. It is also known as "Little Fuzhou of West Malaysia." The population is predominantly Chinese, especially from Fuzhou. Most residents understand Fuzhou (Foochow) dialect, Hokkien dialect, Cantonese dialect, Mandarin, Malay, and English.

Sitiawan is mostly flat, with hills in the coastal town of Lumut. The majority of residents rely on agriculture, with rubber, oil palm, and mangoes being the main products. Aquaculture also contributes significantly, producing a considerable amount of broiler chickens and freshwater fish and shrimp, making it one of Malaysia's major producers. Some residents also make a living from fishing; the cheap and fresh seafood has led to the emergence of many seafood restaurants, with Kampung Cina being particularly famous.

As early as 1903, a group of 363 people from Fuzhou, China, including 72 women and 55 children, landed at the port of Sitiawan, beginning the town's history of settlement.

Because Kampung Koh was the community center for the settlers, and the Methodist Church appointed Pastor Ling Cheng Mei, a Fuzhou native who led the Fuzhou settlers, established a church in Kampung Koh, which was also the social center at the time. The pastor was their leader, and any matters had to be handled by Pastor Ling at the pastor's house. Therefore, since everyone often said they wanted to go to the pastor's house, Kampung Koh was also known as the "Pastor's House".

实兆远 (Sitiawan) 是马来西亚霹雳州 (Perak) 的一个小镇。它也被称为“西马小福州”。这里以华人居多，尤其是福州人。这里的居民绝大部分都听得懂福州话，福建话，广东话，华语，马来语与英语。

实兆远一片平原，只有靠海的红土坎镇 (Lumut) 有少许小山。居民绝大部分以农业为生，橡胶、油棕与芒果是这里主要的生产。养殖业也贡献不少，这里生产不少肉鸡与淡水鱼虾，为马来西亚主要生产地之一。也有些居民以渔业为生，海鲜便宜且新鲜，因而出现了很多海鲜楼 (Seafood Restaurant)，以福清洋 (Kampung Cina) 为主，名闻遐迩。

早在1903年，一批为数共363名来自中国福州包括72名妇女及55名小童等在实兆远港口登陆后，便展开了实兆远的开垦史实。

由于甘文阁为开垦的社区中心，而率领福州人来开垦的美以美年议会委派的福州人牧师林称美是在甘文阁建立教会，而教会又是当时的社交活动中心，牧师是他们的头领，任何的事务处理都要到牧师楼去找林牧师办理，因此在大家经常表示要到牧师楼去的情况下，甘文阁的另一称号就是大家口中的“牧师楼”了。

    • A vibrant heritage spot, designed to showcase the unique history and culture of the local Foochow (Hock Chew) community. Often called a "mural street," it features various "Street Art" pieces that reflect the identity of the Manjung district and the early life of Chinese settlers.
    • 一处充满活力的历史遗迹，旨在展现当地福州独特的历史和文化。这里常被称为“壁画街”，遍布着各种街头艺术作品，反映了曼绒县/地区特色以及早期华人移民的生活。


  • Koki Food Sdn Bhd【甘文阁辣椒酱厂】

    • One of the most prominent manufacturers of the famous Kampung Koh Chili Sauce in Sitiawan, Perak. Founded in 1983 by brothers Qu Shu Han and Qu Shu Man, it evolved from a small home-based operation into a well-known regional brand. The brand is celebrated for its authentic Hokchew-style recipes, characterized by a strong garlic aroma and a mild to medium spiciness.
      • Opening Hours: Monday to Saturday, 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM (Closed on Sundays).
      • Factory Tours: Visitors who arrive early (around 10:00 AM) may be able to witness the chili sauce making process. Larger tour groups usually require an appointment.
      • Admission: Free admission for visitors wishing to purchase products or view the facility.

  • Hock Chew So Mee Shua Konpian【福州寿面线】

    • A renowned traditional noodle manufacturer in Sitiawan, Perak, specializing in authentic handmade Foochow (Hockchew) noodles. While the name includes "Konpian" (Gong Pian), this specific location is primarily a producer of Mee Suah (wheat vermicelli), though it is located near famous Gong Pian bakeries. Visitors can often see sheets of noodles drying on trays in the sun outside the factory, a traditional method that gives the noodles their signature texture.

    • The Sitiawan Settlement Museum and the Pioneer Methodist Church are two closely linked heritage sites that together tell the story of the Foochow (Hock Chew) migration to Perak in 1903. The museum is housed in a former parsonage built in 1935 for the church's pastors and was converted into a museum in 2003. It features over 500 artifacts, including vintage photographs, household items, agricultural tools, and documents that detail the early life and struggles of the 360 Foochow settlers. As of 2026, the entrance fee is typically RM10 for adults and RM5 for children. It is open Tuesday to Saturday (10 AM – 5 PM) and Sunday (2 PM – 5 PM), while remaining closed on Monday.

    • A serene eco-tourism sanctuary located in Lumut, just a short drive from Sitiawan. It offers a well-maintained boardwalk experience through a lush mangrove ecosystem. The park comes with 336-meter-long walkway and suspension bridge allow visitors to explore the swamp without getting muddy, and it is famous for its wild monkeys (macaques), mudskippers, colorful crabs, and monitor lizards.

Popular photo ops include a heart-shaped landmark, a colorful umbrella corridor, and various cartoon-themed backgrounds.

Unlike typical round buns, these are large, rectangular, and feature multiple layers of flavorful fillings. The buns are made using natural yeast, resulting in a distinctively airy, soft, and springy texture that "bounces back" when squeezed. Their most iconic item, featuring alternating layers of salty peanuts and sweet red bean paste. Other flavors include coarsely ground peanuts, red bean paste, kaya, black sesame, and chocolate.

      • Esplanade Wing (Maritime Wing): Located near the Lumut Jetty, this area features a maritime-themed design with an open stage for performances, souvenir shops, and various food stalls.
      • Marina Wing: Situated further along the coast, it is known for its peaceful ambiance, beautiful landscaping, and children's playgrounds.
