Install Outdoor Daylight Photocell Sensor (Auto ON/OFF)

I am still using T8 LED Tube light at outdoor for car porch and back yard. I make it to turn ON/OFF automatically, daytime to turn OFF, and nighttime to turn ON. It is possible with additional photocell sensor installed on any types of lights, even workable for indoor lights too.

1. Typical installation guideline, make sure to install the photocell sensor above the T8 LED Tube
2. By adding a Quick Wire Connector, it is easier to connect the 3-wires from photocell sensor to the T8 LED light wiring. 
• Connect the Black Wire of photocell sensor to Live (L) wire
• Connect the Red Wire of photocell sensor to one of the T8 LED Tube Light terminal 
• Connect the White Wire of photocell sensor to the Neutral (N) wire and another T8 LED Tube Light terminal
3. Example of Quick Wire Connector (D3-3) possible for 3-terminals connection
4. Connect the Quick Wire Connector to the wires accordingly
5. Install the photocell sensor on the T8 LED Tube light housing using 1 screw to lock its holder to the tube light housing. 
6. Test the functionality by cover the photocell sensor using a black plastic provided (to simulate nighttime), then turn on the T8 LED Tube light (picture shown is before installation, just for illustration only)

DIY Series 75: Repair Hot Bowl Clamp

Repair Hot Bowl Clamp

A new hot bowl clamp is only cost below MYR$2.00 (<US$0.50). For example, you can easily get a new set at this link. This simple DIY project just want to try out any possibility to use PVC pipe to fix the broken handle, not really having any cost saving on the repair. 

Anything is possible, utilize your creativity into your daily life.

Photos:

1. Get a small portion leftover PVC pipe, cut it to target length using pipe cutter
2. Draw a line to split the PVC pipe into 2 equal portions
3. Use mini saw to cut the PVC pipe into 2 pieces
4. Use filer to smoothen the uneven surface after cutting
5. Dismantle the broken holder using screwdriver
6. Drill 2 holes on each PVC pipe according to the hole size on the original handle with drill and filer
7. Assemble the new holder onto the bowl clamper (I am using a new set of screws due to PVC pipe's height is higher than original holder)
8. Add a latch (from original unit) onto the end of the new holder with plier
9. Wash the bowl clamp with water
10. Test it using a bowl

• PVC pipe cutter, filer, mini saw, pencil, screwdriver, drill, plier

2. Counter-Clock-Wise (CCW) direction to open the back cover. Clock-Wise (CW) direction to close the back cover.
